This is a beautifully illuminated book。 The text is simple enough for young people to easily read。 This opens up the opportunity for further discussion about the many people, and historical events highlighted in this book。 I think it’s an excellent book to have an any persons library。
Vickie McEntire,
Preet Bharara has written "Justice Is。。。A Guide for Young Truth Seekers," believing that "it will be the younger thinkers and doers who will create a more just and equal society for all of us。" He quotes greats from Frederick Douglass to Malala Yousafzai among the beautiful full-spread art throughout the book。 It's a wonderful historical read to spark conversation and further research。 Short bios are included in the back for all individuals mentioned。 Preet Bharara has written "Justice Is。。。A Guide for Young Truth Seekers," believing that "it will be the younger thinkers and doers who will create a more just and equal society for all of us。" He quotes greats from Frederick Douglass to Malala Yousafzai among the beautiful full-spread art throughout the book。 It's a wonderful historical read to spark conversation and further research。 Short bios are included in the back for all individuals mentioned。 。。。more

Incredible illustrations by Sue Cornelison bring to life the poignant words of Pree Bharara as well as injustices and triumphs across the globe。 A digital advanced reader copy was reviewed。
Pam,
I received an electronic ARC from Random House Children’s Books through the Fall Day of Dialogue。Bharara offers a powerful message defining justice for young and not so young readers。 Each page offers further information about what justice is and how to stand up for it。 The illustrations carry even more power than the text。 Readers meet figures from history who have fought for justice for themselves and others。 Short biographies of each are included at the end of the book。 The final page spread I received an electronic ARC from Random House Children’s Books through the Fall Day of Dialogue。Bharara offers a powerful message defining justice for young and not so young readers。 Each page offers further information about what justice is and how to stand up for it。 The illustrations carry even more power than the text。 Readers meet figures from history who have fought for justice for themselves and others。 Short biographies of each are included at the end of the book。 The final page spread is particularly powerful to me as readers see all of them together marching over the Edward Pettus Bridge。 Did this really happen? No, but the imagery emphasizes the long history of those who were brave enough to risk themselves so others would receive justice。Wonderful book for families to continue discussion on being part of a community of justice seekers。 。。。more
